OUR BELIEFS

The Bible...

The Bible is the inspired word of God.  It was written by human authors under the guidance and authority of God and the Holy Spirit moving in their lives.  Scripture is the instruction by which the Church conducts its interactions with both believers and the world around them.

(Luke 24:44-48, 1 Cor. 15:3-8, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Rev. 1:1-3)

GOD...

God is the creator of the Earth.  He is the head of the Trinity. He was before the world and will remain after its destruction.  He is a loving father who is described throughout the Bible as the Great I AM, the one who is above all, in all, and through all.

(Genesis 1, Exodus 3:12-14, Rev. 1:8)

(Luke 24:44-48, 1 Cor. 15:3-8, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Rev. 1:1-3)

JESUS CHRIST...

The second member of the Trinity; Jesus is the incarnate Son of God, born of a virgin, who died a sinner’s death on a cross even though He was sinless.  In His death He took on the sins of the world, and through His resurrection He ushered in the amazing grace that washes sinners clean and presents us blameless before the throne.  He is the salvation for all mankind and He is the only way for man to enter into an eternal life that is not apart from God.

(Matthew 1, John 1:1-18, John 14:6-14, Romans 8, Phil. 2, Rev. 22:7-21)

HOLY SPIRIT...

The Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity.  He was with God in the beginning and has been influencing believers since time began.  It was not until Pentecost that the Holy Spirit was gifted freely to all who believe and confess that Jesus is Lord.  He is the Church’s guide and helper as they grow in Christlikeness.

(Genesis 1:2, John 14:15-21, Acts 2)

MANKIND...

Mankind is sinful and therefore separated from God without the loving intervention of the Trinity.  Since the time of the Garden man has been broken and it is only through the cross that man can be made right with God. Man is given the responsibility of caring for and maintaining the Earth and Believers are called to make disciples of all nations.

(Genesis 1:27-31, Genesis 3, Matthew 28:18-20, John 3:16-21)

salvation...

Salvation is through faith, by means of Christ’s atoning work on the cross, alone.  Works are merely a byproduct of a life lived in fully devoted worship before God. It is only through confession that Jesus Christ is Lord and recognition/repentance that one is a sinner and has been reconciled before God, by means of the cross, that one can be saved.

(John 3:26, Phil. 3, Eph. 2)

GRACE...

Grace is a free gift of mercy, forgiveness, and love to man that man did not deserve or earn.  It is the ultimate form of love that God could bestow, that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.

(Romans 5:1-11, Eph. 2:8-10, James 2:18-22)

BAPTISM...

Baptism is a public confession of faith signifying a believer’s recognition and participation in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection by means of being fully immersed in water.

THE CHURCH...

The Church is made up of a multitude of Christians who gather globally to serve God, one another, and the world around them.  The local church can consist of two or more believers joining together to proclaim the good news of Christ. The Church is called to baptize and disciple and be the light and salt of the world.

(Matthew 5:13-16; 18:19-20; 28:18-20, Acts 1:7-8, Hebrews 10:19-25, Rev. 7:9-10)
